HV Cable Jointers/Fitters - Relocation to Australia
Australia is calling. Our client is a national provider of electrical infrastructure solutions delivering projects throughout Australia. They are seeking suitably skilled and experienced UK‐based HV Cable Jointers/Fitters to join their teams in Western Australia. The role is fully sponsored, permanent and offers a competitive salary, package and benefits.
Projects will include work for DNOs, infrastructure developers, telecommunications networks and major mining companies. The role may involve occasional FIFO work and overnight stays across Australia.
Responsibilities
* Install, joint and terminate high voltage cables up to 400 kV.
* Maintain and operate cable jointing equipment and devices.
* Make and repair joints in insulated power supply and control cables installed in underground pipes, trenches and overhead systems.
* Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HV cable, switchgear, transformers and associated electrical components.
* Diagnose faults and carry out necessary corrective actions to restore system integrity.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards and best practices in HV installations.
* Collaborate with engineers, technicians, customers and project teams to ensure seamless operations.
* Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of work completed.
Qualifications / Experience
* Recognised electrical or high‐voltage jointing/fitting qualification.
* Minimum 3 years recent proven experience working as an HV Cable Jointer/Fitter.
* Valid JIB CSCS card and certification in HV jointing from a recognised authority.
* Strong understanding of HV safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.
* Proficiency in working with various cable types.
* Ability to work in challenging environments, including confined spaces and elevated positions.
* Strong problem‐solving skills and attention to detail.
* Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* Full, clean driving licence considered beneficial.
Essential Requirements
Candidate must meet visa and immigration requirements and be authorised to relocate from the UK to Australia.
