About the role:
As a Procurement Category Specialist, you will lead sourcing events, support vendor management, and oversee contract changes and renewals. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver commercial value while ensuring procurement governance is upheld.
What you will be doing:
Plan and implement strategic sourcing, category, and supplier management plans.
Manage end-to-end tender processes where spend requires formal tender process.
Lead contract negotiations for new contracts, renewals and amendments or extensions.
Advanced data analysis and reporting skills to support decision-making.
Category planning with a focus on aligning supplier spend to strategic objectives and KPIs.
Development and delivery of category reporting and procurement insights.
Support project and equipment procurement, including supplier prequalification and order placement.
Ability to work with legal teams to develop and negotiate contracts and governance documentation.
What you will need:
4–5 years' experience in a procurement role within the mining or heavy equipment industry.
Extensive experience negotiating contracts, renewals, amendments or extensions
Experience managing end-to-end tender processes.
Proven experience in strategic sourcing and strong commercial acumen.
Experience using Pronto and SAP is highly regarded.
Sound understanding of the Windows operating system and computer network infrastructure.
Advanced Excel skills for presentation of supplier pricing analysis and Pivot Tables
Current unencumbered "C" class Western Australian Driver's Licence.
Relevant bachelor's degree or diploma (supply chain management, logistics, business administration), or significant experience in procurement and contracts management.
CIPS qualification is desirable.
