Job Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and skilled professional to join our team as a Histologist. This role will involve performing routine histological procedures, recording results, and maintaining current scientific knowledge.
About The Role
* Performing all routine histological procedures from point of specimen reception to execution of results for pathological diagnosis, including specimen dissection
* Recording of results in line with protocols
* Maintaining current scientific knowledge
* Participation in both routine and audit related quality assurance activities
* Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required
* Participating in training staff
* Liaising with internal and/or external stakeholders regarding test results or referrals as necessary
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skills within microbiology
* Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting
* Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification
* Ability to perform duties with a high degree of independence
* An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence
* A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
* A positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member
* Effective time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
* The ability to manage and thrive in a busy environment

* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
* Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent
