Overview
Liverpool City Council is seeking a Customer Service Advisor to join its Customer Experience Service, based at the iconic Cunard Building, Pier Head, Liverpool. This is a temporary contract paying £14.93–£19.34 per hour, starting 1 June 2026.
Responsibilities
In this role you will be the first point of contact for residents, providing quality information, advice, and guidance across a wide range of council services. You will resolve enquiries at initial contact where possible, champion digital self‐service, and support customers who need assistance accessing online channels. Working across omnichannel contact methods — including telephone, email, and social media — you will handle a high volume of enquiries in a fast‐paced, real‐time environment. Key responsibilities include identifying and referring customers for further support, maintaining accurate records, building rapport with customers, and working flexibly between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
Qualifications
Essential requirements include experience in a contact centre or customer‐facing role, familiarity with multiple contact channels and ICT systems, and strong communication and multitasking skills. A Basic DBS and BPSS check are required. A customer service qualification and knowledge of Liverpool's local services are desirable.
