The Position
A well-established construction organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll and Accounts Officer to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a hands‐on role owning payroll and supporting accounts, and works closely with senior management to ensure the smooth financial and administrative operation of the business. Key Responsibilities
* End-to-end processing of weekly payroll for salaried employees and site-based work workforce (approx 80 employees);
* Interpret and work with EBAs and Awards within MYOB;
* Manage all statutory lodgements, compliance and reporting obligations;
* Accounts payable and accounts receivable management, ensuring accurate processing and approvals;
* Month‐end journals, general ledger reconciliations, and preparation of management reports;
* Ad hoc support for the broader team and a process improvement mindset.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in payroll (experience within the construction or project‐based environment is highly regarded);
* Knowledge of MYOB;
* High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy and compliance;
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines;
* Strong written and verbal communication skills;
* Proactive, adaptable, and solutions‐focused approach.
