What this role means to Diageo and your future career…
You'll be joining our team of energetic and ambitious Business Development Managers who drive revenue growth and expand our market presence. This role is a steppingstone into the world of sales, where you'll develop your skills and build a strong network.
You'll work closely with key on and off-prem customers to drive product knowledge and sell-through. Our BDMs are the front-line reps for our amazing brands, mentoring the next generation of on and off-premise specialists.
You'll have opportunities to learn from industry leaders, thrive through formal training, and gain real-world experience.
This role will be based in Canberra and covers the Riverina region. You'll spend at least two nights away from home each week, but we offer flexibility to suit your needs.
This position requires regular travel.
A day in the life of a Diageo BDM…
* Knowing your Market: Our BDMs stay ahead of the curve, monitoring trends, competitor activity, and consumer preferences to identify growth opportunities.
* Engaging and building relationships with various on and off-premise customers: No day is the same for our BDMs, so you'll be driving sales calls and product presentations to retail partners and distributors to drive product knowledge and sell-through.
* Driving Sales Growth across our broad portfolio of exciting global brands: You'll develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, working closely with the wider sales team to drive product placement and promotions.
* Collaboration with wider teams: At Diageo, we're a collaborative culture business; all our functions rely heavily on the hard work our BDMs do, so you'll work closely with these functions on creating and driving brand expansion initiatives.
* Negotiations: Your sales abilities will flourish when you lead contractual negotiations with potential clients, ensuring favorable terms for both your customer and Diageo while maintaining strong relationships.
