We are seeking a highly capable executive leader to join our Digital, Communications and Performance branch in a short-term opportunity as Director Cyber, Strategic Delivery and Performance. This critical role provides enterprise leadership across cyber security, strategic delivery and performance insights, supporting informed decision-making and organisational resilience.
About the role
As Director Cyber, Strategic Delivery and Performance, you will lead the Department's cyber security governance, strategic program delivery oversight and performance reporting frameworks. You will play a key role in strengthening cyber maturity, ensuring disciplined delivery of priority initiatives, and driving consistent, data-led insights across the portfolio.
In this role, you will provide executive-level assurance and strategic advice on cyber risk, delivery performance and program outcomes, while supporting the Executive to prioritise investment, manage risk and drive whole-of-portfolio alignment.
You will also oversee planning, governance and performance reporting across major programs, ensuring benefits realisation and continuous improvement across delivery practices.

About you
You have a strong track record operating in complex, high-accountability environments. You bring deep expertise in cyber security governance, strategic program delivery and performance reporting, with the ability to quickly step in and deliver impact.
You are a strategic thinker with strong judgement and influencing capability, able to provide clear, evidence-based advice on complex and sensitive matters. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing competing priorities and driving alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
Your ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across government, combined with your focus on performance, accountability and outcomes, enables you to deliver value in fast-paced environments.
