Network Infrastructure Specialist
The role of a Network Engineer is to design, build, configure, maintain and document key components of a standalone Gateway within a secure Defence environment.
Responsibilities include designing, building and integrating network elements within a standalone Defence network environment. Providing expert-level advice on gateway project architecture, integration and technical implementation. Delivering level 3 support for gateway infrastructure, troubleshooting complex issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
* Operating Systems: Microsoft Server 2019/2022, Red Hat 8/9, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
* Networking & Security: Cisco & Juniper enterprise solutions; Proxies (Bluecoat ProxySG); Email Security (Cisco ESA/SMA); Fortinet appliances.
* Infrastructure & Security Architecture: Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI); Bastion Hosts; Jump Boxes; Reverse Proxy; NAT; VPN; DNS; Mail Servers; IDS/IPS; SSL termination; F5 BIG-IP; Citrix NetScaler.
* Traffic Engineering: VLAN; VRF; VDC; VR; BGP; Policy-Based Routing (PBR); Port Security; 802.1x NAC; ACLs; IPSec; TrustSec; MacSec.
* Monitoring & Analytics: Splunk, Graylog, Dynatrace, ELK Stack, or equivalent SIEM tools; Active/passive network taps for traffic collection and analysis.
Mandatory Requirements: Current AGSVA NV2 Security Clearance; 15–20 years ICT experience, ideally within Defence environments; Recognised certifications (Red Hat OpenShift Architect/Designer) are highly regarded.
