Responsibilities
Support classroom teachers in providing excellent support and care to students aged 4-16 with various SEN needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), and other behavioural difficulties.
Work closely with classroom teachers and senior leaders to create a nurturing and supportive classroom environment.
Qualifications
Patient, resilient, innovative and caring individual.
Compassionate approach to supporting young people.
Experience with SEN(D) either in an educational setting or outside it.
Clear verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies.
Comfortable working across different age groups.
Ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely.
Working Hours & Benefits
Full time, part time, and flexible availability. Working days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, beginning at 08:00. The role is term-time only. This advert is for a temporary position, though the option to make the role permanent may become available at a later date.
Training & Development
Teaching Personnel offers its educators over ten SEN training courses which are free of charge, with additional courses available at a generous discount.
Additional Information
This role includes statutory holiday pay. All candidates must undertake a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Teaching Personnel offers its registered candidates free child protection and prevent duty training. The agency also offers full assistance with safeguarding checks in accordance with DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education', including an online search as part of due diligence. All pay rates quoted are inclusive of statutory holiday pay.
