Summary
What you'll do (the role)
The APAC Energy Markets team plays a critical role in securing revenue streams to drive value and manage market risk for Lightsource bp's APAC renewable electricity generation and storage portfolio.
As the Portfolio Optimisation Manager, you will support Origination activities, reporting on asset performance against financial KPIs and working on portfolio optimisation strategies for Lightsource bp's fleet of assets. In particular, you will play a key role in working with BESS optimization software and providers to analyze performance and implement changes to trading strategies, as well as work on the development of pricing and hedging strategies.
You will be a valued contributor of the APAC Analytics team with an integral role in managing stakeholders and providing insights into business performance.
Responsibilities Of The Role
Lead portfolio optimisation activities including trading strategies development, risk management, performance analysis and reporting.
Be a primary contact point for suppliers and other stakeholders regarding asset performance and trading activities, including:
Performance against financial KPIs (Percentage of Perfect, Cap capture, etc.).
Interpretation of BESS Optimisation results and subsequent changes to trading strategies to improve performance.
Lead automation activities and process development initiatives in relation to portfolio optimisation.
Play an integral role in internal asset/product valuation efforts and Origination activities, including position management support (Power and Green).
Responsibility for monitoring market trends (Australia and APAC region), conditions, price outlook and regulatory changes and evaluating these impacts on Lightsource bp's operational and development portfolio.
Manage internal databases and code base relating to portfolio optimisation activities.
Develop predictive commercial models in collaboration with other team members.
Why you'll make a great member of the team
Experience & Knowledge Required
Multiple years of experience in the National Electricity Market in Australia in Physical Trading, Trading/Market Analytics is a pre-requisite. WEM or other APAC market experience is highly regarded.
Experience working with utility scale renewables and storage assets. BESS trading/modelling experience highly valued.
Experience pricing OTC hedging product structures and asset revenue forecasting.
Understanding of risk management principles and how they affect trading decisions.
Skills Required
Knowledge of the market dynamics affecting short-term and long-term price projections in the NEM.
Experience presenting modelling results to a wide range of stakeholders.
Highly numerical with advanced Excel (VBA) and Python, SQL skills expected.
Familiarity with financial modelling methods.
Education Required
Relevant degree in data analytics, engineering, commerce or a related field.
Additional Notes
Occasional interstate travel may be required depending on candidate's main location.
