Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Meta Building X, 10301 Willows Road N.E., Redmond
Duties:
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, manufacture, and assemble prototypes of soft wearable electronic devices
* Apply sound engineering and design principles for manufacturing of injection molded components, soft electronic components, and novel sensor integrations in wearable electronics
* Communicate with vendors on DFM and Manufacturing of designs for prototype builds
* Collaborate with researchers and engineers to rapidly prototype hardware solutions, iterate, and run experiments.
Skills: Must Haves:
* BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
* 4+ years of experience in designing hardware prototypes, preferably in wearable consumer electronics, or a similar field
* Knowledge of the design process from concept to manufacturing
* Average or higher experience with CAD modeling [Siemens NX]
* Physical prototyping experience
* Experience with FPC/PCB design
* Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
* 3D printing.
Nice to Haves:
* Knowledge of sensors
* Experience developing wearable consumer electronics
* Experience designing with softgoods or textiles
* Hands‐on prototyping with molding and casting of elastomers or industrial processes such as Liquid Injection Molding
* Experience collaborating and communicating effectively on multi‐disciplinary teams
* Experience working in a fast‐paced, dynamic environment
