Role Overview
Our busy and well‐established dental clinic in the heart of Katoomba is seeking a full‐time Dentist to join our friendly, long‐standing team. You will take over an existing patient load and provide a full scope of general dentistry to a highly diverse and multicultural community, including long‐term locals, new migrants, and visitors from across the Blue Mountains region.

Key Responsibilities
1. Assess, diagnose and monitor oral diseases and conditions by reviewing medical histories and using diagnostic tools such as radiographs, intra‐oral imaging, vitality testing and salivary assessments.
2. Provide preventive oral health care, including periodontal therapy, fluoride applications, fissure sealants and tailored oral health education to support long‐term disease prevention.
3. Deliver restorative and rehabilitative dental treatments, including repairing decayed or damaged teeth, placing crowns and bridges, managing implant‐supported restorations, and undertaking routine orthodontic procedures where clinically appropriate.
4. Perform oral surgical procedures such as simple and complex extractions, soft‐tissue biopsies, minor surgical interventions, and prescribe medications to manage infection, inflammation and pain.
5. Restore oral function using fixed and removable prostheses, including partial and full dentures, splints and other prosthodontic appliances.
6. Identify systemic health conditions with oral manifestations, such as diabetes‐related periodontal changes, and refer patients for appropriate medical assessment when required.
7. Educate patients and families on maintaining oral health, treatment options, post‐operative care and lifestyle factors affecting dental wellbeing.
8. Work collaboratively with and provide clinical leadership to the dental team, including Dental Assistants, Hygienists, Therapists and visiting Specialists, ensuring coordinated and high‐quality patient care.
Key Skills
· AHPRA‐registered Dentist with a minimum of 3 years' post‐registration clinical experience in general dentistry.
· Confident in delivering high‐quality care across a broad scope of general dental treatments, with sound diagnostic and clinical decision‐making skills.
· Able to communicate effectively with patients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds; multilingual ability is highly regarded.
· Demonstrates a warm, patient‐centred approach and the ability to build rapport with a multicultural community.
