Network Infrastructure Specialist
Implement and manage digital services infrastructure, including physical, virtual, networking and cloud solutions. The role involves designing and implementing data communications infrastructure and pathways that enable devices and systems to communicate securely, resiliently and efficiently.
The Network Engineer is responsible for managing the network infrastructure of an organisation in Darwin throughout the Northern Territory. This includes designing, implementing and maintaining the network infrastructure, configuring and troubleshooting network devices such as firewalls, routers and switches, developing and implementing network security functionality across networks, monitoring network performance and resolving issues.
* Design, implement and maintain the organisation's network infrastructure.
* Implement network security remediation and uplift in accordance with organisational requirements.
* Configure and troubleshoot network devices such as firewalls, routers and switches.
* Develop and implement network security functionality across networks.
* Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
* Create documentation to support the organisation's networks, including architecture and as-built/as-configured documentation.
Key duties and responsibilities also include working closely with stakeholders and systems owners across multi-disciplinary teams, and carrying out duties in accordance with the organisation's safety, environmental and quality policies, safety principles, corporate values and strategies.
Essential criteria include demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing and managing WAN/LAN networking, networking protocols, network security solutions, industry certifications or equivalents, Cisco networking devices and management platforms, high attention to detail, good communication skills with stakeholders and clients, and experienced in technical writing.
Desirable criteria include experience in performing architecture reviews to identify gaps in security, familiarity with operational technology environments, and demonstrate skills in conducting network security risk assessments.
