About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Consult Veterinary Nurse to join our veterinary team on a full-time contract.
This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys client interaction, nurse-led consultations, patient advocacy, and continuity of care, while still maintaining strong clinical nursing skills. You will play a key role as a trusted point of contact for clients, supporting both animal welfare outcomes and positive client experiences.
This position works across a seven-day rotating roster between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm, including occasional weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities
As a Consult Nurse, your duties will include:
* Conducting nurse‐led consultations, including:
o Post‐operative rechecks
o Preventative healthcare discussions
o Weight management and nutrition advice
o Parasite prevention education
o Behaviour and welfare support
* Acting as a primary point of contact for clients, providing clear, empathetic communication and education
* Supporting the reception team with general enquiries as well as patient triage and education
* Supporting veterinarians with case follow‐ups and continuity of care
* Performing patient triage and clinical assessments within scope
* Administering medications accurately and safely
* Monitoring animals for illness, injury, and behavioural concerns
* Assisting with veterinary examinations and procedures as required
* Performing routine nursing procedures including blood collection, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and patient monitoring
* Maintaining accurate medical records
* Supporting infection control, cleanliness, and hospital standards
* Providing environmental enrichment and promoting animal wellbeing
About You
You are a confident, compassionate, and organised veterinary nurse who enjoys working closely with both animals and people. You will bring:
* Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent qualification)
* Previous experience as a Veterinary Nurse
* Strong interest or experience in consult nursing or client‐focused roles
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* High standards of patient care and attention to detail
* Confidence interacting with clients from diverse backgrounds
* Strong animal handling skills and sound nursing knowledge
