Overview
Do you love to fish? Fishability is looking for volunteers who love fishing and who enjoy helping others develop independence and experience the excitement of catching a fish. Experience with fishing is not necessary, but all volunteers must have a positive and empathetic nature. This is a great opportunity for a retired person with a commitment to the role.
Responsibilities
* Assist children and adults with disabilities during fishing activities.
* Help provide modified rods, reels and vessel support.
* Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
* Follow the schedule and procedures set by the team of volunteers.
Qualifications
* Positive, empathetic demeanor.
* No prior fishing experience required.
* Ability to work reliably on a weekly basis.
Commitment & Schedule
Commitment: Regular — more than 6 months. The program runs weekly for 2 hours each activity on Tuesdays (in summer Fridays also). The program is delivered almost year‑round with regular jetty and boat schedules.

Equipment
Uniforms and all equipment will be issued after a period of volunteering.
Training
Training will be provided by the organisation.
