Job Description
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner you will make a real difference in the lives of people living with disability by helping them and those around them. You will focus on enhancing quality of life, reducing behaviours of concern and promoting the rights of people with disability.
You will work as part of a team including practitioners, a team leader and clinical advisors, to support people with evidence‐based practice while developing your own knowledge, skills and experience.
You live in or close to Shepparton.
Responsibilities
* Support our clients (NDIS participants), along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person‐centred planning.
* Identify meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community.
* Develop, deliver and evaluate evidence‐based support plans within a complex support space.
* Ensure individual plans reflect our clients' goals, passions and strengths.
* Build the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support our clients – family, carers, friends, etc.

About You
* Current suitability (i.e. registration) with the NDIS Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner is strongly preferred.
* Considerable practical experience in supporting people with complex and challenging behaviours is essential.
* Demonstrated ability to work positively in a diverse team.
* Outstanding communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
* Confident computer skills.
* Flawless writing skills.
* Current Drivers Licence and own reliable vehicle.
Qualifications
* Degree level qualifications relevant to providing support to people with behaviours of concern are highly preferred.
