About the Role:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director, Office of the Mayor and CEO, will provide inspiring leadership and vision to the newly created Office of the Mayor and CEO. This is an exciting and diverse portfolio and plays a vital role in overseeing governance, risk management, compliance and community-focused service delivery whilst also providing vital strategic and operational support to the CEO, the Mayor and Councillors to bring the City’s vision to life.
The departments within the portfolio include:
* Strategic Property
* Legal Services
* Executive Services and Governance
* Libraries and Community Service Delivery
* Community Protection and response
We are interested in candidates with broad experience, inspiring leadership and an understanding of machinery of government process including:
* Experience working with, supporting or influencing elected officials and their representatives;
* Experience driving improvements in service delivery within a relevant and complex operational environment;

To be Successful in Your Application You Will Demonstrate:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant senior level experience across a broad range of disciplines relevant to the position;
* Outstanding negotiation, relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills;
* A demonstrated track record in developing and driving strategy including communicating and implementing transformational change;
* A working knowledge of relevant legislation including the Local Government Act and an understanding of Machinery of Government process;
