Role and Responsibilities 
As a Librarian, you will be at the heart of our mission to deliver exceptional service to our community. Your role will involve a diverse range of responsibilities, ensuring that our library patrons have a seamless and enriching experience. Key duties include offering expert readers' advisory and reference services, acting as the Senior on Duty, and overseeing day-to-day circulation activities, including staff supervision. You will also monitor the use of library equipment, manage opening and closing procedures, and lead in delivering engaging programs and activities that cater to a broad audience. 
We’re looking for four enthusiastic team members to join us in casual roles across our vibrant library network. With an hourly rate of $45.86 plus 25% casual loading and 12% superannuation, these opportunities offer flexibility, variety and the chance to make a real difference in the community. You’ll work in some of Stonnington’s most popular locations – Malvern, Malvern East, Prahran and South Yarra – each with its own unique energy and local character. 
You must also be available to work a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends. 
Desired Skills and Experience 
What you'll need to thrive in this role: 
- A degree in Librarianship or Information Management, along with eligibility for associate membership of ALIA (Australian Library and Information Association). 
- Demonstrated experience working in libraries, including the delivery of information literacy programs to diverse audiences. 
- Proficiency in library management systems and technologies, particularly within an RFID environment, as well as familiarity with eLibrary products. 
- Outstanding customer service skills, with a genuine passion for engaging with and supporting library patrons. 
- The ability to work effectively within a team, bringing a collaborative and positive attitude to ensure a supportive and productive work environment.
