Martinus is seeking a Safety Advisor to come in and hit the ground running on one of Australia's biggest rail infrastructure projects. Ideally, you will come from a major projects background and can impose strong health and safety management legislation across multiple construction and plant operating sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice and drive continuous improvement to support the project team in maintaining a safe workplace environment.
* Develop and implement effective policies and procedures to ensure project compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
* Monitor HSE performance of the project/site teams and contractors, ensuring activities comply with related legislation and company policy.
* Liaise with external regulatory bodies and authorities, including Inland Rail representatives.
* Keep, monitor registers and prepare reports on maintenance and compliance activities.
* Assist in the development and compilation of relevant HSE documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in health and safety roles, preferably in a similar industry.
* Relevant HSE qualifications, such as Cert IV in WHS or higher.
* Experience in interpreting and applying relevant WHS, Rail Acts, Regulations, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.
* Demonstrated ability to understand audits and risk assessments.
* Ability to travel and work on required roster.
