Intake and Assessment Clinician Role

The Intake and Assessment Clinician will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality mental health assessments and interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake triaging/intake of new referrals to the service
* Provide high standard mental health assessments, involving case formulations, risk assessments, and the development and coordination of recovery care plans
* Provision of evidence-based therapeutic interventions (individual and group programs)
* Collaborative consultation with consumers, their families/significant others and relevant service systems to respond appropriately to assessed mental health needs at the individual and community level
* Ongoing liaison and linkage with internal and external service systems regarding the mental health needs of consumers of the service, and of the wider community
Requirements:
* One of the following: Provisional/General AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, full AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse OR Tertiary level education in Social Work with registration or eligibility with AASW
* Knowledge and experience in the provision of clinical mental health assessment and evidence-based interventions
* Demonstrated computer skills and ability to maintain clinical records; provide statistical data and reports to management as required
* Positive, solution-focused attitude with commitment to positively participate in service improvement activities and personal clinical growth
* Sound understanding of the public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs and associated non-mental health programs in a community setting
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with people who have or are at risk of developing a mental illness
* Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as a member of a team
* Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills
