Make an impact at Serco Responsibilities as a Dental Assistant
* Provide chair‐side assistance to a Dentist/Dental Specialist/Hygienist
* Assist with administrative tasks such as entering/updating patient records, and other duties as required
* Assist in the promotion of oral health to patients
* Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and procedures, including Defence Policies & Procedures
* Contribute to the cleanliness and effectiveness of a dental surgery environment and maintain optimal hygiene of the surgery
About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. This includes providing defence‐ready clinical and support staff at 45+ on‐base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on‐site medical care.
About Robertson
Robertson Health Centre is located on Robertson Barracks in Holtze, 15km east of Darwin. It is home to the 1st Brigade & 1st Aviation Regiment. The facility supports approximately 2800 members, with a large reserve component, and accommodates an additional 2500 US Marines every 6 months from May to September. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, pharmaceutical, dental, physiotherapy and mental health services, and operates a 22‐bed low‐dependency ward 24/7. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30‐15:30 Monday‐Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on‐call shifts).
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
* Certificate III in Dental Assisting or nationally recognised equivalent qualification
* Demonstrated compliance with relevant standards and procedures
* Minimum of 2 years' (full time equivalent) chair‐side experience within the last 5 years
* Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities
* Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification
Please Note
You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role. You do not need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on‐base; your position remains here even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
