General Practitioner role at Serco – ADF Health Services, Townsville, Queensland.
As a civilian General Practitioner working with the Australian Defence Force, you will provide essential medical care and support to Australian Defence Force (ADF) Members.
Responsibilities
* Deliver primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.
* Be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
* Assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care supporting health and wellbeing pre- and post-deployments.
* Provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer, Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager, and unit Commanders.
* Be supported by a team of Senior Medical Officers and uniformed colleagues.
* Provide services in outpatient or inpatient settings as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Current, unconditional registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
* Minimum of 2 years full-time post-graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
* Recent CPD activities in accordance with AHPRA.
* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
* You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.

In partnership with Bupa, the ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force personnel across Australia, including 45+ on-base locations.
Location
Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, offering primary medical, ambulatory care, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, pharmaceutical care, and a 24/7 inpatient ward.
