What You'll Be Doing
Lead assessment of complex statutory building proposals
Provide expert compliance advice and resolve challenging cases
Represent the City at hearings and tribunals with confidence
Investigate breaches and drive enforcement outcomes
Mentor and develop a high-performing team
Build strong stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes
Support the Principal Building Surveyor in strategic oversight
Champion best practice and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Building or related discipline
Building Surveyor Practitioner Registration (Level 1 or 2)
Extensive experience in statutory building control
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and processes
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proven ability to manage complex and sensitive matters
Experience in staff supervision and mentoring
Current Driver's Licence and National Police Clearance
