Senior Customer Service Representative- International Freight Services

Reporting directly to the Customer Service Manager, and forging close collaborations with the senior management team, overseas offices, and suppliers, you will become an integral part of this progressive team, that has achieved remarkable growth and global return on investment over the past year.
Your primary responsibilities will be to fully support the Customer Service team for both Imports & Export customers, in Melbourne, with the following tasks but not limited to:
* Upkeeping customers informed and up to date with their shipments
* Maintaining strong professional relationships with customers in a variety of industry sectors
* Provide excellent customer service on a daily basis to a variety of cargo requirements
* Implement process improvement in conjunction with customers service level agreements
* Assist in new customer implementation process
* Collecting and interpreting data and generating reports for clients
* Maintaining accurate client files via an internal freight system
* Establishing connections with overseas offices and suppliers
* Identify and follow up on sales leads
* Collaborating closely with sales representatives and departmental managers when required
* Generating and assisting with new quotes and maintaining of rate cards for customers
This role suits an individual with a background in client services dealing directly with the customer on a daily or regular basis. You must demonstrate:
* Experience in a similar role within Freight Forwarding (not negotiable)
* 5+ years working within the Freight Forwarding sector
* Proficiency in advanced forwarding knowledge and procedures
* Excellent communication and writing skills
* Knowledge of rate cards and invoicing
* A collaborative approach working within a team environment.
* Readiness to undertake additional tasks as necessary.
* Robust IT skills and efficient system navigation
* Skillful task prioritization and exceptional organizational aptitude
