We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team at our production facility in Kapunda, SA.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, reliability and performance of our mechanical equipment. You will play a key part in keeping our production operations running smoothly by carrying out preventative maintenance and responding quickly and effectively to unplanned breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, implementing timely and effective repairs
* Minimize downtime and improve overall equipment reliability
* Identify improvement opportunities and recommend cost-saving initiatives
* Provide technical expertise and diagnostic support
* Complete daily prestart checks on all machinery and take action on any issues
* Respond promptly to breakdowns and urgent maintenance needs
* Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment condition and repairs performed
* Participate in the after-hours call-out roster
* Install, assemble and test new machinery and equipment
* Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams on upgrades, repairs and new installations
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and help refine SOP's
* Maintain plant, tools and work areas
* Uphold and promote all safety principles
What You Bring
* A proactive, accountable approach to work
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrated experience with preventative maintenance and fault diagnostics
* Sound mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial machinery
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
* Understanding of manufacturing processes and maintenance data
* Proficiency with hand and power tools
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or related discipline
