Job Description
The Lecturer B – Curriculum Development will provide dedicated curriculum design and development support to the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (GDLP) team during a critical period of course development and implementation.
The primary focus of this role is the development, review, and refinement of curriculum, learning resources, facilitation guides, workshop materials, assessment resources, and teaching content to support the delivery of the NSW Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice commencing in July 2026.
Working closely with the GDLP Course Leader and subject matter experts, the successful candidate will assist in translating legal practice competencies into engaging, practical, and professionally relevant learning experiences.
This position has been established to provide immediate curriculum development capacity during a period of temporary staffing shortages and increased program development activity.
While the incumbent may provide limited support to teaching, assessment, or student engagement activities where required, the primary purpose of the role is curriculum development and course readiness.
Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated curriculum design and development support to the GDLP team.
* Develop, review, and refine curriculum, learning resources, facilitation guides, workshop materials, assessment resources, and teaching content.
* Translate legal practice competencies into engaging, practical, and professionally relevant learning experiences.
* Assist with course readiness and provide limited teaching, assessment, or student engagement support as needed.
* Support curriculum development during temporary staffing shortages and increased program activity.
Qualifications
Essential Selection Criteria
* Admission as an Australian Lawyer with post‐admission legal practice experience.
* Demonstrated experience developing curriculum, educational resources, training programmes, assessments, workshops, or professional learning materials.
* Experience translating complex legal concepts into engaging educational content.
* Demonstrated experience writing facilitator guides, learning activities, student resources, or competency‐based learning materials.
* Excellent written communication and editing skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and deliver projects within short timeframes.
* Strong project management and organisational skills.
Highly Desirable
* Experience developing Practical Legal Training (PLT) or GDLP curriculum.
* Experience developing competency‐based legal education programmes.
* Experience in higher education curriculum design or instructional design.
* Familiarity with Moodle or other learning management systems.
* Experience facilitating legal education programmes or professional development workshops.
Term
Maximum term contract up to 2‐3 months.
