ABOUT THE ROLE
NTHA is offering a hands-on, 24-month paid traineeship leading to a FWP30322 Certificate III in Timber and Wood Products Operations—a nationally recognised qualification designed to launch your career in timber manufacturing.
As a Trainee Door Manufacturer, you'll be trained in all areas of the door production process—from reading measurements and cutting materials, to operating specialised woodworking machinery and assembling finished products. You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople, gaining real skills on the job while being paid to learn.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to build a long-term career in a stable and growing industry. No prior experience is needed—just motivation, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Learn to operate woodworking machinery including panel saws, CNC routers, sanders, and edge banders
• Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble timber components
• Measure, mark, assemble, and laminate doors
• Handle and install glazing and glass products
• Read and follow cutting lists, technical drawings, and job specs
• Conduct quality control checks to ensure finished products meet specifications
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised work area
• Assist in the full door manufacturing process—from raw timber to final product

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
• Full working and study rights in Australia (no visa restrictions)
• Hands-on experience with power tools (preferred)
• The ability to read and understand measurements and cutting requirements
• A strong interest in working with timber in a practical, hands-on environment
• Good physical fitness and stamina for manual work
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
• A commitment to safe work practices and learning new skills
• A driver's licence and reliable transport
Hours: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday - Friday.
