Forensic Intervention Services offers clinical and non-clinical student placements in a forensic setting to support rehabilitation and reduce reoffending.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
* Undertaking clinical service delivery such as individual work, assessment, case formulation, group-based intervention, supervision, and professional development (clinical placements).
* Gaining understanding of forensic professional practice settings, legislative and judicial systems, and engaging in research and evaluation projects to improve service delivery (non‐clinical placements).
* Working within a multidisciplinary team of experts in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, mental‐health nursing, criminology, criminal justice, restorative justice, and family violence.

* Undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in relevant clinical or non‐clinical degrees such as psychology, counselling, social work, occupational therapy, criminology, legal studies, or related disciplines.
* Students with a strong passion for effective forensic practice and belief in the capacity for change within the justice system.
* Individuals demonstrating high maturity, commitment to learning, effective self‐care, and openness to discussing placement challenges.
* Alignment with the department's core values: working together, making it happen, respecting others, serving the community, and acting with integrity.
* Willingness to undergo pre‐employment checks including national police checks and misconduct screening if progressed to interview.
* Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
