Role Overview
Make a lasting impact in the community of Timor‐Leste by joining our Health Workforce Development Program as a Quality Programs Team Leader. Based at Hospital Nacional Guido Valadares, you will work with the Leadership and Quality Programs Manager and program caregivers to support the St John of God International Health (SJGIH) development program plans, which aim to improve patient care across Timor‐Leste by strengthening the capacity of Timorese healthcare workers.
Responsibilities
* Act as an ambassador for SJGIH programs and provide leadership to caregivers to uphold the SJGHC Vision, Mission and Values.
* Use the SJGIH approach to stable and sustainable development to design, plan and implement integrated activities in collaboration with Program Managers and other Team Leaders to achieve strategic actions outlined in the SJGIH plans.
* Provide on‐ground leadership to design and implement capacity‐strengthening activities that enhance the capability of Timorese caregivers and program counterparts to deliver quality programs effectively.
* Contribute to monitoring and evaluating design and activities, including quantitative and qualitative reporting that demonstrates progress against strategic plans.
* Provide oversight for delivery, troubleshooting, monitoring and evaluation of the Quality Programs and address issues and lessons learned.
* Build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders and provide expert advice on matters pertaining to Quality Programs, ensuring they meet their needs and those of the Ministry of Health.
* Promote a professional environment that supports good healthcare practice, professionalism, clear communication and reporting, and a safe, clean, equipment‐maintained workplace.
Qualifications
Successful applicants must possess a nursing and/or midwifery qualification and be eligible for registration to practice as a nurse/midwife in Australia. They should have completed a postgraduate qualification and/or have at least two years' experience working in a quality role across auditing, development and implementation of policies, Standard Operating Procedures, infection control and data management. The role also requires two years of leadership/management experience and a commitment to learning the local language of Tetun.
Benefits
* Salary from 1st July 2026: $122,113 to $128,541 plus 12% superannuation
* Fixed‐term full‐time contract (2‐year contract), 38 hours per week
