The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing Unit Manager to lead and oversee the effective operation of a clinical unit, ensuring high-quality patient care and service delivery. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for managing the physical, human, and financial resources at the local level to meet patient needs and respond to service demand in a dynamic healthcare environment.
As Nursing Unit Manager, you will act as a strong advocate for patients, carers, families, and staff, fostering a culture that values consumer involvement in care delivery. You will play a key role in promoting patient-centred care while ensuring that services are responsive, safe, and efficient.

What you will bring to the role
* Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with APHRA Division 1 Registered Nurse
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, management or working towards attainment.
* Demonstrated skills in quality improvement/redesign projects and the associated change management.
* Demonstrated sound financial skills with an ability to interpret financial reports
* Demonstrated ability to motivate, manage and develop nursing staff to maintain a positive workplace culture.
* Proven ability to assess nursing utilisation and resource requirements within agreed targets.
* Demonstrated effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to travel within the LHD in accordance with the position.
