This permanent position is available for a Purchasing Supervisor to become a valued member of our team, where your skills are appreciated and your dedication is rewarded.
On the job training will be provided where necessary.
Position Requirements
* Manage & lead the purchasing and warehouse teams
* Purchase all inventory, and consumables in accordance with production and quality requirements.
* Follow up/expedite orders. Update delivery dates, shortages and late deliveries to ensure all purchasing activities within the team run inline with the factory production schedules.
* Establish improved processes to follow inventory critical path timelines to ensure stock arrives to schedule and meets requirements.
* Work with suppliers to identify and rectify non-conformances.
* Lead the price negotiations for all suppliers and manage relationships.
* Actively pursue alternative supplier options for selected inventory items.
* Maintain the supplier database, purchase records and related documentation.
* Ensure our quality system and purchasing procedures are adhered to.
Qualifications & Experience Required
* Minimum of 5 years in a procurement role managing supply chain functions (experience within the manufacturing/engineering industry is preferred).
* Understanding of stock replenishment, sales and operations planning processes, & ERP software.
* Proven ability in managing end to end supply chain including forward planning, stocktakes & inventory analysis and liaising with internal stakeholders to understand requirements.
* Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrated system analysis, problem solving and planning skills (advanced Microsoft Excel skills essential).
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to prioritise the team's work flows to best effect.
* A strong interest and desire to be involved in the factory to facilitate practical outcomes with Production staff.
* An assertive and collaborative approach in ensuring Suppliers meet their commitments.
* Be commercially astute and possess good negotiation skills.
