Commercial acumen, inspirational leadership, natural deal instincts, and an "innate desire to win" are the personality traits that will make this the "career defining" position for the right person.The PersonProven executive leadership experience with a track record of delivering results that exceed expectations ideally with a gold producer or contract miner.Minimum 10-15 years of experience in mining (with experience in open cut mining operations), with a strong understanding of production, safety and cost dynamics.Process orientated – a leadership style and decision-making style that relies heavily on systems, procedures and structured methods rather than just intuition, ad-hoc problem solving, or purely visionary ideas.Demonstrated success in execution of opportunities that lead business transformation, evident through effective negotiation and a track record of "closing deals."Strong financial acumen, including P&L responsibility and commercial contract negotiation.Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and relationship building skills.Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Commerce/Business, or related discipline (an MBA or other post-graduate qualification is desirable).
