The role of a Computer Graphics Generalist is to bring vision and creativity to the production of animated content.
As a member of the animation team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality 3D models, textures, and shaders that meet the director's vision and creative brief.
* Create 3D models and environments that are accurate and detailed, using software such as Maya and Katana.
* Develop and implement surface materials and textures that match the desired visual style, using tools like Substance Painter and Mari.
* Work with the lighting and compositing teams to ensure that the final product meets the creative goals of the project.
* Maintain a strong understanding of industry-standard software and pipelines, and be able to adapt to new technologies and workflows.
* Collaborate with other artists and technicians to achieve high-quality results within tight deadlines.
About the Role:
* Construct organic and hard surface models which convey the intent of art department reference and are faithful to the style of the production.
* Define the three-dimensional form and two dimensional silhouette of all models as briefed and resolve unspecified details as required;
* Working within a brief and using 2D design reference to paint CG textures that are faithful to the style of the production;
* Develop shaders for all CG assets;
* Create some UV maps or modelling adjusts as required, that adhere to pipeline requirements and are suitable for the resolution and complexity of the assets;
About You:
* You have a solid experience and understanding of Maya, Photoshop, and high proficiency in painting software like Substance Painter or Mari.
* You have solid knowledge of modeling, surfacing, and rigging workflows.
* You are proficient in Katana and/or Arnold with good knowledge of photoreal and non-photoreal renderers.
* You are able to flag issues that may impact on the successful delivery of assets within the production schedule.
* You possess excellent communication skills and willingness to share information in a team environment.
* You are able to multitask, prioritize as required, take direction, and be flexible and responsive to change.
