Index Academy is a growing tutoring centre empowering students from
Year 3 to VCE
through high-quality, personalised education. We believe students learn best when they feel supported, understood, and confident - and we're looking for tutors and teachers who share this belief.
Our classes are intentionally kept
small (maximum 4 students)
, allowing tutors to teach effectively, identify learning gaps early, and tailor explanations to each student. At Index Academy, tutors don't just teach content - they help students build strong learning habits, confidence, and ownership of their progress.

About The Role
We are hiring
Maths Tutors and English Tutors
to teach students across primary, secondary, and VCE levels. Tutors may apply for one or multiple levels depending on their strengths.
Maths Tutor Roles
* Primary Maths
* Years 3-6
* Secondary Maths
* Years 7-10
* VCE Maths
* Mathematical Methods & Specialist Mathematics
English Tutor Roles
* Primary English
* Years 3-6
* Secondary English
* Years 7-10
* VCE English
* VCE English & VCE English Language
Location:
153 Eley Road, Blackburn South VIC 3130
Working Hours:
classes run between 4-9pm on weekdays and 9am - 6pm on weekends, tutors can pick to fit their schedule.
What You Will Do
* Teach
* Deliver clear, structured lessons aligned with the Victorian curriculum and VCE study designs.
* Support
* Identify learning gaps early and provide targeted explanations and practice.
* Coach
* Help students build strong study habits, exam strategies, and confidence.
* Prepare
* Support students with school assessments, SACs, and exams using structured materials.
* Connect
* Build positive relationships so students feel supported, motivated, and confident.
Who You Are
* Academically Strong
* 96+ ATAR (required) and 40+ study score (strongly preferred) in maths/english.
* Clear Communicator
* You can simplify complex ideas and adapt explanations to different learning styles.
* Student-Focused
* You are patient, empathetic, and genuinely care about student progress.
* Reliable & Proactive
* Organised, professional, and able to work independently.
* Committed
* Available for
5+ hours per week
with the ability to commit for at least
one academic year
and able to travel to our center located in Blackburn South.
* Values-Aligned

A current Working with Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one, is required.
