We are seeking a passionate, committed Occupational Therapist who enjoys working with persons over 65 years old. This role requires confidence in autonomous decision‐making and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
As an Occupational Therapist within St George Mental Health Service you will work with the MDT to provide innovative, compassionate and recovery‐focused care to an older persons client group.
Position Requirements
* Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and current registration with AHPRA; and demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
* Demonstrated core competency skills in Aged Care and/or Mental Health in regards to functional assessments and interventions in older people with cognitive and/or mental health problems
* Experience working in mental health, with a commitment to the principles of a consumer focused recovery oriented approach
* Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with patients to enhance service delivery
* Ability to work as part of a multi‐disciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience
* Computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems
* Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence based practice, including planning, implementing and evaluating individual and group interventions
