As a carpenter you will be responsible for all carpenter-related jobs. You must have fluent communication skills to ensure efficient and reliable work.
Skills & Qualifications: You are expected to hold a Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, a Certificate IV or 3 years of relevant experience in substitute of the formal qualification.
Duties & Responsibilities: A list of duties and responsibilities are included to but not limited to those below;
* Effectively fabricate and install flashing and vapour barriers and ensure correct weatherproofing to protect the integrity of the wall cladding and prevent damage.
* Cut and fix panelling in accordance to the height and panel position, accounting for any windows, doors and corners.
* Ensure panelling is fixed in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
* Utilise technical drawings, including blueprints and specifications, to determine the appropriate materials and size of the materials required for the job.
* Select suitable materials in relation to the position of the wall cladding (i.e. interior or exterior of the building) and order materials as required to ensure they are available for use.
* Identify and select the suitable tools and equipment to be utilised to carry out tasks.
* Determine correct materials and methods to repair existing wall cladding.
* Accurately measure the work area to order the correct amount of materials required for projects.
* Verifying trueness of structure by using plumb bob and level.
* Building and repairing doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings by using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, or power tools.
* Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.
* Building foundations, fit and install structures or fixtures such as windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
* Installing pre-fabricated wooden building components.
* Clean work area and dispose of materials that cannot be reused or recycled.
* Utilise abseiling techniques for the installation of wall cladding.
* Ensure rope access construction works are in accordance with IRATA techniques, and safety standards are upheld.
* Ensure Occupational Health and Safety standards are maintained and the work site remains clean.
* Liaise with site contact to carry out projects in accordance with clients requests.
Salary: $100,000 + Superannuation
