TEACHER'S AIDE - YEARS 7-12

Avondale School is a K-12 independent School owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, located in Cooranbong. The School's mission is to provide opportunities to know Christ, develop full potential and cultivate a love of learning.
We are seeking suitably qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic Teacher's Aide to provide a high standard of support to secondary aged students. This is a part time, 30 hour position from 8.00am until 4:00pm during term time. Stand down leave applies during non-term time.
The successful applicant will meet the following criteria;
• Model and nurture an active relationship with Jesus and have a knowledge of, and commitment to, supporting the ethos and mission of Avondale School.
• Have a student-focused outlook and the ability to creatively engage students.
• Must hold a Certificate III in Education Support or higher qualification and/or have equivalent experience.
• Have accurate record keeping skills.
• Can implement programs for individual students and small groups under the direct supervision of classroom and inclusive education teachers.
• Have experience in supervising and instructing students with behavioural/medical challenges and individual needs.
• Demonstrate strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Have excellent people skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with all school stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to work with multiple digital platforms, recording and learning tools.
• Hold current a current Working with children's check clearance and a First Aid certificate.
The successful applicant will be provided with access to the Staff Handbook that sets out the expectations and requirements of employment at the school.
