The APS6 Data Analyst is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents. The position is a team leadership position within the Agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across a range of activities. Additionally, the APS6 Data Analyst will be required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. They may also be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support Agency objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality data analysis and reporting, including the development of dashboards, benefits reports, and data visualisations to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement in complex operational environments.
* Experience using Power Query is highly desirable.
Key Skills
* Lead and support recruitment and workforce planning activities, including translating future state workforce designs into modellable inputs and informing FTE forecasts segmented by role, time, place, and source to support implementation.
* Undertake stakeholder engagement to coordinate with internal stakeholders and external consultants, ensuring alignment with transition frameworks and workforce design priorities.
* Provide leadership and oversight for business analysis functions, including setting priorities, managing workflows to ensure project outputs and alignment with agency objectives.
* Exercise sound judgement and initiative to resolve complex issues by applying advanced technical, data-driven and numerical methods, assess risks effectively and contribute to strategic business improvements and innovation initiatives within a policy and legislation governed environment.
* Manage stakeholder relationships and change processes, including negotiating with clients and stakeholders to support workforce transition, minimise resistance, and maximise cooperation during periods of organisational change.
