Responsibilities
* Diagnose and Repair: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues in diesel vehicles, trailers including but not limited to fuel systems, transmissions, and electrical systems.
* Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections to ensure optimal performance and longevity of diesel vehicles.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities. Provide detailed reports to management and keep organized documentation for compliance purposes.
* Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship experience working on heavy transport trucks and trailers.
* Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices and effective communication skills.
* HR driver's licence (highly advantageous given recent yard changes).
* Trailer licence (would be extremely beneficial).
* Strong diagnostic and repair skills across a variety of heavy vehicles and trailer systems.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong time-management and task-prioritisation skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
* Reliable, self-motivated, and able to adapt to changing operational requirements.
* Willingness to work across varying shift patterns as needed, given potential future changes to our workshop structure.
* Commitment to safe work practices and maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
* Good communication skills and a professional attitude when dealing with internal stakeholders and external service providers.

High school certificate or equivalent.
