The Role
We're looking for an experienced Sous Chef who will assist in the overall running of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
Responsibilities
You'll be an integral part of the kitchen operations and day-to-day planning of service. You will assist with stock control and ordering, overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure the highest service standards. Training and mentoring are part of the journey—you will also be required to train and mentor other junior chefs. This role ensures the kitchen is kept compliant with all food, health, and safety regulations and that the kitchen is kept organized from open to close and especially during service periods.
Skills and Experience
Proven experience in Japanese / Asian cuisine.
Excellent time management, leadership and ability to work under pressure.
Proven experience in supervising a team in the absence of management.
Ordering and stocktaking experience, managing budgets and COGS.
Relevant Qualifications in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety.
