In this role you will be the person who deals with the primary client-facing teams interacting with new demands. This set of services focus on business partnership, solutioning with the business to solve complex business problems, and helping the Business to keep up to date with technology. It includes Enterprise Architecture, Business Analysis and Process Management, Portfolio & Project Management, Strategic Initiative Delivery, Shaping and Estimating works, Delivery Lifecycle, Business Agility coaching, Definition and Governance of the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) – streamlining IT practices and exploring emerging technologies such as AI to better understand how the organisation can leverage these.
Engagement & Transformation Services consists of two teams:
* Engagement & Innovation Services – partnering closely with the business, this team is responsible for the IT architecture and its practices. This team leads innovation strategies in e-Research and other specialist digital technologies and is responsible for the transition of specialist advanced services into operation across the University
* Program Delivery – responsible for portfolio and project risk, maintaining quality and project performance objectives and ensuring appropriate organisational change management is incorporated into projects to facilitate the effective adoption of project objectives
Innovation Enablement Lead responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of digital innovation initiatives across corporate, learning and teaching, research, and specialist technology domains.
* Support and coordinate the identification, development, and early-stage adoption of innovative digital solutions across the organisation.
* Coordinate and administrate activities related to the Solution Review Group, including preparing documentation, gathering information, and supporting assessment processes.
* Promote and facilitate the adoption of emerging technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement and digital transformation across the university.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
Under the broad direction of the Manager Engagement & Innovation Services, and the day-to-day leadership of the Enterprise Architect, the Innovation Enablement Lead plays a key role in the innovation pipeline and is involved in all phases of the digital innovation lifecycle. The Innovation Enablement Lead will have specialist expertise in developing and productionising innovations in a higher education landscape and will be capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to lead the idea-to-reality process of innovation.
The role is central to the innovation portfolio, supporting IT and all business units with the development and delivery of digital innovation, including corporate, learning and teaching, research, and specialist technologies. The Innovation Delivery Lead will provide day-to-day support and leadership within all aspects of the innovation portfolio as well as identifying and developing innovative solutions for IT and the broader organisation.
The Innovation Enablement Lead will have a high level of initiative and be capable of accomplishing objectives and undertaking complex projects and may lead small project teams or act independently as required. The Innovation Delivery Lead will keep abreast of AI technologies and policy, both internal and external. The role plays a key part in helping the organisation maintain the contemporary use of AI while considering the broader AI policy landscape to ensure that the organisation is maximising the technology benefit in a way that is consistent with sector and government directions.
ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE POSITION
* Lead the idea-to-delivery process for digital innovations within IT and all business units.
* Lead small project teams as required.
* Independently identify and develop innovative solutions to improve organisational outcomes for the organisation.
* Support the adoption and integration of specialist technologies within the innovation portfolio.
* Develop and deliver training to staff and students on digital innovation initiatives.
* Provide leadership to the innovation team and broader IT department in all aspects of the innovation portfolio.
* Coordinate and administer activities related to the Solution Review Group, including preparing documentation, gathering information, and supporting assessment processes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
Applicants need to demonstrate they meet the following Selection Criteria:
* A relevant degree with a minimum of four years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of extensive specialist experience and/or education/training within the computing & information technology sector.
* Cutting edge hands-on IT practitioner with experience and broad knowledge of IT.
* Proven effectiveness in working with internal and external stakeholders to identify, develop and productionise innovative digital solutions.
* Extensive experience in developing and delivering technical training, both in person and via teams/zoom.
* Experienced business analyst, able to visualise how technology can be applied to solve business problems and able to inspire customers and promote challenging ideas.
* Extensive experience in developing and delivering digital innovation initiatives.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills including effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to deliver responsive client-oriented service working with a wide variety of clients with varying levels of technological experience.
* Experience in researching and evaluating technology to improve outcomes for stakeholders.
* Ability to investigate different approaches to issues or new opportunities within the innovation portfolio and present the results in a succinct manner.
* Strong time management and work prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
