WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking a talented professional to coordinate and lead all media activities for WACHS. The role involves supporting and proactively promoting WACHS, its key priorities, projects, and policy initiatives to a wide audience, with the aim of increasing public awareness of the organisational and government support for initiatives that improve public health in regional WA.
This position provides high-level advice, including crisis management advice to the CE, executives across WACHS, and the Minister's office. It is responsible for responding to enquiries from media organisations reporting on WACHS and the public health system, and supporting various sites within WACHS to communicate the health services they provide to the people of WA. The role also ensures the preparedness of Public Information resources for emergency response.
The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, across a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services, and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia.
