About the Role:
As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations across our group of companies. Your primary focus will be on reconciliations, reporting, and supporting general accounting processes.
The successful candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and a passion for process improvement, with excellent time management and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level) and solid understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits are essential requirements for this role.
About You:
We are looking for a confident and analytical accounting professional who can work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities effectively. To be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of financial statements, including the relationship between the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, and familiarity with various accounting systems (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations across seven entities
2. Prepare and post general journal entries
3. Manage credit card transaction processing for MR Australia
4. Reconcile Dr Pay reports for 2Cloud9
5. Compile and distribute daily pipeline reports
6. Maintain and update the debt spreadsheet 3–5 times per week
7. Assist with month end processing
