Role Overview
The role involves supporting clients and their families to meet their needs in a culturally appropriate manner, including engagement in culturally appropriate practice, protocols, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, and review safety and support plans that address both strengths and areas of risk using a cultural safe lens.
* Coordinate a culturally safe pathway in wrap-around support by working closely with government departments, schools, health services, and community agencies to raise awareness and deliver integrated services.
* Identify and respond to risks, including escalating concerns and making child protection reports where necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
* Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field, or equivalent lived experience.
* Experience working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and other diverse groups.
* Knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal communities, families, and children.
* Strong understanding of problematic and harmful sexual behaviours in children and young people, including associated risks and vulnerabilities.
* Demonstrated experience supporting children, young people, and families, particularly in child protection or similar settings.
* Excellent communication, assessment, and case planning skills, with a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.
* Current driver's license.
