We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to oversee safety in design, consultant engagement, scopes of work, construction documentation and shop drawings. The ideal candidate will verify documentation for compliance with building regulations, authority requirements, client briefs, minimum standards and final construction methodology and sequencing.
The responsibilities include:
* Management and coordination of Safety in Design (SID) risks, ensuring transfer from designers to the construction team.
* Consultant scope management, engagement and cost planning.
* Consultant team meetings (agenda and minutes).
* Value engineering identification and value management.
* Construction documentation and shop drawing process management.
* Documentation program management relative to trade letting and site works.
* Sub-contractor build-ability requirements into construction documentation.
* Principal's PCA ensuring CC award relative to the order of site works.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessment and verification of construction documentation, including:
* Principal's project requirements, functional brief or minimum standards.
* Construction management methodology and sequencing.
* Lessor works/CAT 1 works to be completed by Parkview.
* All building regulations (NCC), Australian Standards, etc.
* All performance solutions to fire safety, access, etc.
* Development consent to ensure compliance.
* 'Separable Portions' or 'Staged CC/OC' to ensure permissible occupation.
* Parkview 'Build-Ability' and 'Workmanship' Standards.
* Alternative design or products improving ROI, durability and maintenance.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree in construction management, architecture or related field.
* Minimum 5 years experience as a design manager for a builder.
* Experience in functional briefs, consultant scopes and engagements.
* Track record on projects over $50M.
* Proficiency in MS Project, Excel and ACONEX.
* Strong presentation and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
