Senior Dairy Cattle Stockperson Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Dairy Cattle Stockperson to join our team. As a key member of the dairy team, you will be responsible for planning and managing all aspects of milk production, including milking shed routines, reproductive programs, and herd fertility management.
You will also be responsible for assisting in controlled breeding experiments to develop improved livestock strains, implementing calving procedures, and planning and managing pastures and crops for livestock production.
In addition, you will analyse produce to set and maintain standards of quality, supervise animal health programs, and handle sick or injured animals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Animal Health Management
* Supervise work routines and staff performance of less experienced employees
* Implement and monitor quality assurance procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant documentation
* Operate milking plant and equipment in a safe manner, undertaking multiple functions including reading and recording instrument information
Other responsibilities include calf feeding, irrigation works, inspecting livestock, transporting stock, feed and equipment, maintaining records, and ensuring food safety regulatory requirements are met.
As a Senior Dairy Cattle Stockperson, you will contribute to and implement OHS requirements, participate in enterprise/industry training sessions and workshops as required.
