Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital providing tertiary referral services across emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatrics, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery.
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to join our hospital team to enhance patient care and medication safety across all stages of hospitalization, from admission to discharge, and in collaboration with community pharmacists and general practitioners.
Role Overview
In this role you will provide clinical pharmacy services as an integral member of the patient care team, ensure best practice in therapeutics and medication accuracy during transitions of care, and contribute to after hours and on-call pharmacy services with rostered afternoon shifts.
Your Responsibilities
Respond to enquiries with professionalism, provide drug information to patients and carers, prepare in-service lectures, review current literature, and maintain service statistics.
In addition you will be involved in manufacturing sterile and non-sterile products not commercially available, participate in aseptic dispensing and quality control, supervise packaging and labeling, and maintain compliance with legal and departmental standards.
In the pre-packaging area, oversee the accurate assembly and documentation of packaged items.

What You Will Bring To The Role
Tertiary qualifications in Pharmacy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
Postgraduate clinical experience in a health care setting
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Ability to prioritise workloads, work independently and within an inter-professional team
Strong organisational and time management skills
Commitment to ongoing professional development
Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office and Pharmacy Inventory and Dispensing programs
