The Job
Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Director Capital Markets will help drive a variety of initiatives related to financial strategy and capital markets, including both tax equity and back leverage (short term warehouse facilities and future term financings), as well as helping to manage the company’s working capital financing.
What You'll Do

- Developing a portfolio of scalable, low-cost financing structures to fund the Company’s residential solar systems.
- Identifying and cultivating relationships with potential tax equity, cash equity, and project debt investors that enable a programmatic approach and repeat year-over-year investments.
- Structuring and leading project finance transactions from origination to close.
- Partnering with accounting and asset management to transition closed deals to the post-execution phase with the Fund Management group.
- Managing relationships with our ongoing tax equity partners and identifying follow-on investment opportunities.
- Engage in discrete analytical projects to drive business decision-making, and address strategic investment opportunities
- Execute corporate modeling and capital planning activities, with the ability and willingness to play multiple roles in capital markets and fundraising activities
- Team-management capabilities – ensuring proper delegation, defining roles/responsibilities, maintaining a positive team culture, and providing growth and development opportunities for reporting team members
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Who You Are
- MBA or equivalent preferred. Bachelor’s degree in finance or similar required.
- 3+ years experience in raising equity and debt project capital either with an investment bank, private equity firm, or project developer
- Knowledge and experience working with renewable energy companies
- Experience with tax structuring, ideally partnership flip and leasing structures
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with executive-level decision-makers
- Strong team player: ease of working cross-functionally with Accounting, Sales, Legal, and Asset Management groups
- Analytic Skill: The candidate must be able to spot problems quickly and find creative ways to solve them. She/he must be hands-on, data-driven, and detail-oriented, with excellent technical, analytical, and evaluative skills.
- Entrepreneurial Drive: High-energy; quick to enable this dynamic organization to capitalize on trends and opportunities.
- Communication: Articulate and able to convey important messages and the unvarnished truth clearly and compellingly; an executive presence combined with a high degree of maturity and business judgment.
