About us Grand Pacific Health (GPH) is a for-purpose community-based organisation. GPH provides high quality health services to assist people in the management of their physical and mental health. GPH’s mission is to provide equitable heath care with an emphasis on helping vulnerable and at risk of disadvantage populations as well as regional communities. GPH employs over 400 staff including many qualified health and other professionals including peer workers and community workers. GPH operations cover a large regional geographical footprint in NSW and ACT. About the position The Wagga Wagga Medicare Mental Health Centre is looking for an experienced Peer Worker. Peer Workers work within the Grand Pacific Health (GPH) mental health teams to provide open and effective support to people accessing or considering connection to GPH mental health services. As a Peer Worker, your own lived experience of life changing mental health challenges, mental health service use, as well as periods of healing and personal recovery will be critical to support people accessing the program with their own lived experience of the same. This is a permanent full-time opportunity with the option for a Rostered Day Off each month, based in Wagga Wagga. The service will operate seven days a week and candidates should be flexible and available to work on a rostered basis, including on weekends and outside of normal business hours, as needed. We are looking for someone with: Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or commencement or a willingness to work towards qualification within first 6 months of employment). Direct lived experience of life changing mental health challenges, mental health service use, as well as periods of healing and personal recovery. Commitment to safely and purposely share lived experience to engender hope and support others on their personal recovery journey.
