Band 6 - Salary Range $97,926 to $106,637 per annum + 12% Super + ADO
Rate of pay and super effective 1 July 2025

The OpportunityBecome an integral part of a trusted and dynamic Governance Team. This role provides invaluable support in a timely and effective way to the Senior Coordinator Governance, as well as to Council's Manager Governance and Head of Governance, in all matters relating to the provision of governance advice and support by the Governance Team to internal clients and stakeholders. The Governance Officer will perform a critical role in ensuring the Governance Team smoothly and effectively manages all governance related functions, including the preparation for and running of Council and Committee Meetings, policy review support, management of delegations and authorisations, personal interests returns, maintenance of statutory registers, and governance intranet and web pages. Greatly contributing to the Governance team maintaining its position as a trusted advisor to Council that is able to significantly contribute in a positive way to quality governance outcomes to its internal clients and stakeholders, including Councillors, the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, other Council Staff and members of the public.
This position also plays a key role, among other things, in the facilitation and delivery of school visits run by Council throughout the year which is a critical interface between Council and the local community.
